50 IT projects for hospitals, financed from European funds worth EUR 15 M

Minister of Communications Valerian Vreme said yesterday that over 180 requests for financing with European funds have been submitted, regarding projects aimed at the implementation of IT solutions for the medical sector, out of which some 50 will be accepted after evaluation, with a budget of EUR 15 M, Mediafax reports. “The solutions that will be implemented in these hospitals will be connected to the national system that will manage the patients’ records and electronic networks financed by the National House of Health Insurances,” Vreme mentioned.

The Communications minister also mentioned the project of developing the broadband infrastructure in underprivileged areas, which will benefit from grants worth EUR 84 M. The project will provide broadband coverage to 90 pc of the 3,648 underprivileged areas existing in Romania.
