Orthodoxy loses one of its foremost confessors

Father Arsenie Papacioc, the confessor of the Sfanta Ana convent of Techirghiol, died yesterday at the age of 97. The spokesman of the Tomis Archbishopric, Father Alin Boc said the body will be buried Thursday, most likely, at the Sfanta Maria convent of Techirghiol. Father Arsenie Papcioc was considered one of the foremost Orthodox priests. He belonged to the “golden generation” of Romanian theologians and was imprisoned by communist authorities for his beliefs. Since 1976, he was the confessor of the Sfanta Maria convent of Techirghiol.
