Copa America: Uruguay in the final

Luis Suarez fired Uruguay into the Copa America final with a second-half double to secure a deserved 2-0 victory over ten-man Peru in La Plata, fifa.com informs. The Liverpool striker scored twice in five minutes shortly after half-time to maintain La Celeste’s hopes of securing a record 15th South American title alive. Suarez netted his first on 52 minutes after Peru goalkeeper Raul Fernandez spilled a speculative Diego Forlan shot. The 24-year-old then ran on to a long pass, before rounding Fernandez, to roll in the simplest of goals and seal a place in Sunday’s decider, where Uruguay will meet the winner of the semi-final between Paraguay and Venezuela.
