Government wants to supervise the construction of Nabucco in Romania

The government wants to set up an inter-department committee that will include representatives of seven ministries and several institutions, in order to supervise the construction of the Nabucco gas pipeline in Romania, Mediafax reports. Among other tasks, the committee must periodically brief the government about the activity on site and the measures taken with this regard, according to a Government Decree drafted by the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Business Environment (MECMA). The new structure will include the presidents or secretaries general of the ministries of Economy, Public Finance, Administration and Interior, Environment and Forest, Justice, Foreign Affairs, and Regional Development and Tourism. Other members will be the presidents and secretaries general of the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority, the National Agency for Mineral Resources, the National Authority for Administration and Regulation in Communications, and the Competition Council. The committee will be coordinated by the state secretary for energy of the Ministry of Economy.
