Jazz, dance and visual art at “Icon Arts Academy”

The “Icon Arts Academy” Contemporary Music Festival, already at its ninth edition, starts on Sunday, July 24, and is running until August 7, promising a marathon of jazz, chamber music and contemporary dance performances, photography exhibitions, as well as a string of master classes offered by celebrated Romanian and foreign artists. The Icon Arts Academy has in store ten sections for this year’s edition: composition, musicology, performance, choral ensembles, orchestra, chamber music, jazz, dance, acting and photography.

The manifestations will take place in Sibiu, as well as surrounding cities: Sighisoara, Medias, Cisnadie or Cisnadioara. The closing gala will continue the time-honoured tradition of presenting a syncretic artistic product, which merges music, dance and drama. The laureates’ gala is scheduled to take place on August 6, at the Cisnadioara Fortress.

The festival is organized by the Romanian Musicians’ Performing Creation Union and Exces Music. The public’s access is free.
