European funds – a sensitive topic, Labour Minister says

The Labour Minister, Sebastian Lazaroiu, met, in Brussels, the European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, Laszlo Andor, to address the absorption of European funds, and stated that the topic was a sensitive one for Romania and the European Commission alike, Mediafax reports. Lazaroiu stated that his discussion with Laszlo Andor had started from the low absorption rate and had focused mainly on the “Human Resources Development” Operational Program. The minister told the European Commissioner there was, already, a plan for action which came into force as of July 1. In the line with preoccupation for EU funding, Prime Minister Emil Boc attended, yesterday afternoon, the meeting of the Inter-ministerial Committee in charge of monitoring the absorption of EU funds, at Victoria Palace.
