Antonie Solomon, leader of PDL Craiova, will be able to resume his term as Mayor of Craiova. Solomon had been suspended in March 2010 after he was arrested for acts of corruption. The decision was taken yesterday by the Galati Court of Appeals, the ruling being final. Antonie Solomon was placed under preventive arrest on March 3, 2010, being accused of bribe-taking and forgery. At that time Solomon was accused of taking a EUR 50,000 bribe from a main shareholder of Pitesti-based PIC company. He was jailed within the Colibasi Penitentiary and was then transferred to the Galati High Security Penitentiary. The Democrat-Liberal mayor was suspended during that period. Solomon was released six months later (on September 8, 2010 – editor’s note), the decision being taken by the Galati Court of Appeals.
