Guided tour of Pallady Museum

The “Calea Victoriei” Foun­da­­tion invites children to join them, this Saturday, on a second guided tour of one of the city’s museums: a tour of the “Theodor Pallady” Mu­seum, hosted in one of the oldest and finest merchant homes in Bu­charest, the Melik House. The visit will offer children an opportunity to get acquainted with the works and life of one of the major Ro­manian painters, while learning, through the works on display and through creative activities, about the techniques and materials used in painting, about colour, light and sha­dow, and about the artists’ sources for inspiration. At the same time, taking advantage of the history and architecture of the Melik House, children will have a chance to discover and explore the 18th cen­tury and 19th century merchants’ Bucharest, through tales and anecdotes, thus learning about the customs, fashion and society of the age.

Recommended age: 8 to 12; maximum number: 12 people.
