Relu Fenechiu, leader of PNL’s Iasi branch, said on Friday during a press conference that it is not compulsory to appoint as USL’s official candidates for mayoralties and county councils the people that are first in opinion polls, arguing that the share between PSD and PNL, a share established at national level, has to be respected. Referring to the situation in Iasi, Fenechiu underlined that there are no dissensions within USL, despite the fact that Tudor Ciuhodaru (PC) stated several times that he will run for the Iasi City Hall irrespective of the results of USL polls. According to the leaders of USL Iasi, Gheorghe Nichita (PSD) is first in opinion polls. PC leader Daniel Constantin replied by stating that the Liberal is talking nonsense and he should shut up if he still wants what is good for the USL. “The propaganda he made for Nichita in the past two months has made them both lose credibility in the electorate’s eyes! Ciuhodaru is first in all opinion polls, both for the City Hall and for the County Council,” Constantin said. Following Constantin’s comment, PNL Vice-President Varujan Vosganian said the Conservators’ leader “would learn to count to ten while growing old before speaking”.
