Romania has accessed, so far, approx. EUR 3 bln via the National Rural Development Program (PNDR), the equivalent of 30 pc out of the total European funds available for agriculture and rural development, according to a release by the Rural Development and Fishing Payment Agency (APDRP), quoted by Mediafax. Thus, APDRP made payments of over EUR 2.3bln to reimburse the beneficiaries of European funds for rural development. “By July 26, 2011, APDRP had ensured the verification, authorisation and reimbursement of over 4,300,000 payment applications, amounting to a total EUR 2,388,336,767,” the release further reads. Alongside this amount, Romania absorbed another EUR 561 M, representing the advance money granted by the European Commission when PNDR was initiated.
