Robbery at Bucharest jewellery shop

A man tried, on Saturday, to steal several pieces of jewellery from a pawn-shop in Bucharest, Mediafax reports. In broad daylight, the man, whose face was covered, entered the pawn-shop in the Campia Libertatii area, District 3, pointing a gun at the shop-assistant. He broke one of the shop-windows with his fist and took several pieces of jewellery. A passer-by noticed what was going on and immediately called 112, reporting it to the police, at which point the thief fled. According to eye-witnesses, the thief climbed in a Dacia car, where an accomplice seemed to be waiting for him. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. The police are trying to track the thief and to assess the damage. According to Realitatea TV, 12 people have been heard so far, mostly witnesses of the incident.
