Romania’s industrial producer price index returned to growth in June, due to increases in all sectors, the country’s statistics institute INS announced yesterday. The statistics data show producer prices raised 0.7 pc from a month earlier, after a 0.3 pc decline in May. Prices in the manufacturing sector were up 0.8 pc on the month in June, while mining industry prices were up 0.6 pc. Prices in the utility and energy sectors increased 0.4 pc and 0.1 pc on the month, respectively. Compared with the same month of 2010, industrial prices rose 8.4 pc in June, boosted by higher prices in all sectors. Manufacturing prices increased 9.4 pc in June from the year-earlier month, while prices in the utility and mining sectors rose by 8.5 pc and 4.4 pc on the year, respectively. Energy prices were up 3 pc in June compared with the same period of 2010.
