Romanian folk music singer found dead in her home

The Romanian folk music singer Viorica Ciotoi, aged 41, was found dead in her home in Botosani and the police started an investigation. The spokesperson for the Botosani Police, Daniela Darea, stated the woman had been found dead by her husband on Sunday afternoon and the latter had called 112 to request an ambulance. According to the same source, the singer’s two children, a one-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl, were also at home. The medical team dispatched to the scene found the woman had suffered a cardio-respiratory arrest and attempted to resuscitate her for about 45 minutes, to no avail. According to the aforementioned source, there are no suspicions of “a criminal act” in this case. “No traces of violence were found following the examination of the body. There are no suspicions of a criminal act, but an autopsy is underway to establish the cause of death. Depending on the forensics’ conclusions, we will proceed with the investigation,” Darea argued, quoted by Mediafax.
