Companies owned by Patriciu, Voiculescu sue PNL

Two of the companies owned by Liberal businessman Dinu Patriciu and Conservative Party founder Dan Voiculescu sued the National Liberal Party (PNL) over unpaid debts dating back to the 2009 presidential campaign, online daily ‘Gandul’ reported. Voiculescu’s Intact publishing house pressed charges against the party in July, over a EUR 60,000 debts. PNL’s treasurer Rares Manescu told the newspaper that he had talks with the firm and reached an agreement to pay the debts in instalments. Voiculescu’s Conservatives are part of a wide opposition alliance with PNL and the Social-Democrats.
Patriciu’s Odyssey Communication sued the PNL for a EUR 600,000 debt, according to Liberal sources. Asked to comment on the matter, Manescu said he had no knowledge of what PNL’s contract with Odyssey consisted of.
