Romania average net wage up 1pc MM in June, to RON 1,472

The average net salary in Romania rose 1 & on the month to 1,472 lei (around EUR 350) in June, due to granting of occasional bonuses, amounts distributed from the profits, and to higher production and revenue, the statistics institute INS said Thursday. Gross average salary increased 0.9% to RON 2,026 in June, the statistics data showed. The most significant growths compared with May were registered in the telecom and the pharmaceutical industries, where wages rose between 9% and 11%, in the energy and utility sectors and in the financial brokerage, with salary increases of 6% to 8%. Compared with June 2010, the average net wage in Romania increased 3.5% in nominal terms, the data showed.
