Police set up Facebbok, Twitter accounts

As of August 1, the Romanian Police can be found on social networks Facebook and Twitter, according to a press release from the General Police Inspectorate, quoted by Realitatea.net. The police will use the social networks to distribute information about various campaigns and activities. The institution’s page on Facebook is called “Inspectoratul General al Politiei Romane” and on Twitter, its channel is called I_G_P_R.

The police also plan to set up an account on Flickr to post photos of its activities and another one on video sharing website YouTube, to post footage from various actions. The move is part of the Romanian Police’s drive to strengthen its partnership with the community and to make citizens real partners of dialogue, the release also reads.
