Projects worth RON 3 M for Romanian Diaspora

The Department of Romanians from Everywhere (DRP) has financed, in the first part of 2011, no less than 95 programmes totaling RON 2.8 M, most of the funds being earmarked for projects in the Republic of Moldova, Serbia and for the ARC holiday camps programme. DRP pointed out for Mediafax that it had at its disposal RON 6 M for programmes, projects and actions meant to support the Romanians living abroad and their organizations. DRP has already earmarked half of those funds (RON 2,825,555.78). DRP received 500 financing requests, however in the end only 95 of them were considered eligible. DRP is financing programmes, projects and actions whose beneficiaries cover a minimum of 10 per cent of their total value.
