Electrica estimates it will open two wind farms by the end of 2012

Electricity provider and distributor Electrica SA estimates that it will make operational two wind farms by the end of 2012, which it is building in Chirnogeni (Constanta County) and Frumusita (Galati County), according to data provided by the company, quoted by Romania Libera newspaper. “The acquisition procedure is currently going on for the 45 MW wind turbines that will be installed at the Frumusita wind farm. In September, we will publish the announcement of intent for the auction of wind turbines at the Chirnogeni wind farm. The auction will start after obtaining the construction license,” reads a press release issued by Electrica SA. The Frumusita wind farm has been authorised for construction and has the connection contract signed. The company is currently submitting all the documentation for the Chirnogeni wind farm, and already obtained the technical connection license. The connection contract will be signed in August, company officials say. Electrica SA is sole investor in both projects. The total investment in the two wind farms might reach EUR 200 M.
