A Romanian fair dedicated to the film industry will take place between August 25 and 28, in Ploiesti, under the heading “Golden Carpathian Ploiesti European Film & Fair”, Mediafax reports. The event is organized by the Ploiesti Mayor’s Office, the Ministry of Culture, the National Cinematography Centre, RADEF Romania and the Association for European Cultural Integration. The first edition of the fair will be dedicated exclusively to Eastern European productions. The event is meant as an occasion for directors, producers, distributors and other representatives of the Eastern European film industry to come together in a professional setting, to present their films, to sell or purchase broadcasting rights or productions or to find co-producers for future productions. The Ploiesti European Film & Fair competition will award a Golden Carpathian Best Film prize, worth EUR 5,000, as well as prizes for the Best Director and Best Script, worth EUR 2,500 each.
