Renewable products made in “Transilvania” University of Brasov

The “Transilvania” University of Brasov will complete, in March 2012, the project initiated two years ago, titled “CDI Institute for High-Tech Sustainable Development Products – PRO-DD-Space to promote Renewable Energy”, conducted via the “Boosting Economic Efficiency” Operational Program (POS-CCE-, Axis 2 – enhancing efficiency via research, technological development and innovation), Professor Ion Visa, the rector of the University, stated, during a visit of the Management Authority. The project costs a total RON 102,319,178, out of which RON 60 M comes from structural funds, RON 26,226,409 – from the university’s own resources and RON 16,092,769 is reimbursable VAT, from governmental funds.

The purpose of the Institute is that of designing, developing and preparing for technological transfer new products, which makes the university a national centre for sustainable development. The institute is also a place for the training of highly-specialized human resources, which creates new jobs and backs economic growth by the development of high-tech products.

Within POS-CCE-, out of the 14 projects in the Axis 4 (boosting energy efficiency and distribution security in the context of climate change), one has already been finalized and belongs to Eco Power, five projects are in the reimbursement stage and eight are in various stages of implementation.
