Romania ranks fourth in EU based on June annual slump in constructions

Romania reported, in June, the fourth steepest reduction in the European Union in the constructions sector. Turnover slumped by 10 pc in June compared to the same month of 2010, while the euro zone reported an average reduction of 11.3 pc. At EU level, the constructions sector saw an average 8.1 pc-slump, according to figures released by Eurostat. The steepest reductions were reported in Spain, at 43.7 pc, and Slovenia – 35.9 pc. At the other end of the spectrum, rises in turnover were reported in the constructions sector in Poland, which saw a 16.2 pc-rise in June, followed by Sweden, with 4.5 pc, and Germany, with 2.6 pc.
