Over 10,000 faithful attend cathedral consecration

The Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church (BOR), PF Daniel, urged yesterday the over 10,000 faithful who attended the Holy Mass performed after the consecration of the “Birth of the Virgin” Cathedral to fortify their faith through fast and prayers. According to Mediafax, on Sunday morning, the BOR Patriarch consecrated, alongside other high prelates and 110 priests, the cathedral in Gura Humorului. Those present during the ceremony included the head of the Suceava County Council Gheorghe Flutur, the Suceava mayor Ion Lungu, Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) and Social Democratic Party (PSD) MPs, as well as the deputy president of the National Union for Romanian Progress (UNPR), senator Serban Mihailescu.
