Eureko Asigurari subscribed gross premiums worth RON 21.8 M in the first six months of the year, up 9.6 pc against the same interval of 2010, the result being supported by the advance registered in the segment of health insurances, the company announced yesterday in a press release. “A trend noticed during the analysed interval is the slight reduction of the policy cancellation rate, despite the tough economic environment that put further pressure on the insurance market as a whole. The total number of signed contracts demonstrated us that the need for safety and profit has increased, a natural evolution given the present economic conditions,” said the CEO of Eurisko Asigurari, Frans van der Ent. According to the company, the result was supported by the gross premiums subscribed in the health insurance sector, which had an annual advance of 34 pc, to RON 6.13 M, as the market share on this segment was estimated at 40 pc. The gross premiums subscribed in the life insurance sector topped RON 15.35 M, accounting for a slight increase from the same interval of last year.
