The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) has informed yesterday that approximately 50 Romanian citizens that previously refused to be evacuated are currently in Tripoli but because of the lack of security there is no real possibility of evacuating them for the time being. Bucharest says it did everything to evacuate Romanian citizens prior to the start of military actions on the ground, having repatriated 739 Romanian citizens. According to the aforementioned source, traveling to Tripoli is a high-risk endeavor because the rebels and loyalist forces are trading fire. MAE recommends Romanian citizens that need assistance to urgently contact the Consular Relations Office at +0040 21 3196870 and the diplomatic missions of Hungary and of the Republic of Cyprus in Tripoli.
