Bucharest Tribunal judges yesterday rejected the appeal filed by Monica Gabor, the former wife of businessman Irinel Columbeanu, and ruled that their daughter, Irina shall remain in the custody of her father, Irinel. Tuesday’s decision was reached after judges examined the situation of the former husband and wife. “I believe that the court proved quite wise, despite some gross attempts by Monica Gabor’s lawyer to manipulate the justice system through some pathetic tricks,” the businessman said upon hearing the news. The Buftea Court of Law ruled June 27 that Irina shall stay with her father, Irinel Columbeanu, ruling upheld by the Bucharest Tribunal. “As to the earning ability, the court remarks that, while both parents prove having the means necessary to raise the child, the claimant’s earnings are higher nonetheless and able to provide the underage child with the means of living she has been accustomed to since birth,” according to the court’s substantiation note.
