Shorts by Cristian Nemescu and Andrei Toncu to be screened in Bucharest parks

Short-reel productions signed by Cristian Nemescu and Andrei Toncu, including “C Block Story” and “Marilena from P7”, will be screened on Thursday and Friday, five years since the two young filmmakers’ tragic death, in a car crash. According to a release quoted by Mediafax, NexT awaits the Bucharest public in the Tineretului Park (the “Gheorghe Sincai” National College entrance), on Thursday, August 25, starting 8.30pm, and on Friday, August 26, at the same time, in Rahova’s Sebastian Park, with a short-reel films series. This time, NexT proposes to take films out of cinemas and bring them to the quarters whose stories inspired the two in the making of shorts such as “Marilena from P7”, “C Block Story” or “Mihai and Cristina” and where the films were actually shot.

The public’s access to the screenings is free within the number of seats available.

The NexT Cultural Society was founded to commemorate the director Cristian Nemescu and the sound engineer Andrei Toncu. In 2007, the Society also set up the NexT Film Festival.
