Bogdan Aurescu – decorated by the Polish state

Bogdan Aurescu, State Secretary with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), was awarded Friday, at the Embassy of Poland, with the ‘Commander Cross of the Order of Merit’ granted by the Polish president, for his “extraordinary contribution to developing the Romanian-Polish relations.” Ambassador Marek Szczygiel presented the decoration to the Romanian official, saying that Aurescu “played a pivotal role in concluding the strategic partnership between Romania and Poland,” signed in 2009 in Bucharest. In his turn, Aurescu said that Romania and Poland share common values and goals, related to the European agenda, the regional agenda and security problems.
