“Ciao Amore, Come Stai?”, a song composed by Marcel Dragomir and performed by 15-year-old Andreea Olariu of Constanta, won the Mamaia National Pop Music Festival 2011. In the Rock section, a first in the festival, the winners were the band Vertigo. Pasager and Trips ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Incidents were not lacking either, with the song performed by singer Bernice Chitiul being eliminated from the contest, as the song was not performed for the first time, as the festival regulations require. Also, on day 1 of the event, Bernice Chitiul was the protagonist of a backstage scandal, as she refused to wear some clothing accessories supplied by organizers on grounds they didn’t suit her personality.
