The Ministry of Public Finance wants to borrow RON 4.7 bn by issuing state bonds in September, after August when it raised a lot less than the intended RON 4 bn, according to data published by the institution yesterday, Money.ro reports. The Treasury will hold seven auctions for the sale of securities most of which – both as number and value – are for short-term loans with the issuance of treasury bills falling due after no more than one year. Three different auctions will be held for long-term loans with the sale of bonds with 3, 5 and 10 year maturities with a cumulated value of RON 1.6 bn. The first auction will take place on September 1, when the Finance Ministry intends to borrow RON 500,000 from 5-year bonds.
