Logan sold as Lada Largus in Russia

Renault, shareholder of AvtoVAZ, the Russian auto manufacturer that produces the Lada models, has decided it is time to expand the presence of the Logan model on the Russian market by placing the Lada logo on it, Inautonews informs, being quoted by realitatea.net. The Lada Largus model is produced by the plant in Togliatti but some parts will come from Dacia’s plant in Mioveni. The model includes several features such as power steering, ABS and power door locks.
Renault’s Moscow plant is working at full capacity in order to attain its goal of hiking its sales in Russia by 40 per cent to 2.7 million vehicles, Bruno Ancelin, the director of the French auto manufacturer’s Russian division, stated last month. Likewise, Renault wants to expand its presence in Russia by taking over majority participation within AvtoVAZ, the largest Russian auto manufacturer, given the rapid growth of the auto market against the backdrop of recovering consumer expenditures after the decline caused by the global financial crisis.
