Romanian – excellence award at New York Fringe Festival 2011

Romanian actress Cinty Ionescu is among the winners at this year’s New York Fringe International Festival. She made a great impression on the jury, media and spectators alike with the video design for the play “Nils’ Fucked Up Day” by Peca Stefan, Mediafax reports. The show was a trademark performance by LUNI at Green Hours, the only East-Euro­pean theatre company invited at the festival. The American critics’ award rewards both newcomer actress Cinty Ionescu, and the theatre performance. Despite being described by critics as “the most obscene play of the Romanian contemporary theatre,” “Nils’ Fucked Up Day” proved a successful play both with audiences and the New York critics, according to a press release.
