Films from several Balkan countries will be shown in the Balkanimation section, and worldwide production will vie for prizes in the student competition at the Anim’est Festival Oct. 7-16, in Bucharest, organisers announced. There are 11 short film entries in the Balkanimation competition, from Croatia, Greece, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia and Turkey. Romania is present with “Scream”, a new MediaPro Magic production, by animator Sebastian Cosor. Sebastian Cosor has created visual effects and animation sequences for video games, advertisements and feature films and short films including “Fire & Ice” – The Dragon Chronicles” and “Contra Timp”. In the student production section, there have been chosen 52 entries from prestigious universities worldwide. The 6th Anim’est Festival will run at Cinema Patria, ArCuB Hall, Cinema Union and Union Club in Bucharest. For the first time, Anim’est will hold a special edition in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, Nov. 3-6, 2011.
