Tuesday’s General Assembly of Oltchim (AGA OLT) shareholders did not choose a new Chairman of the Board of Administrators (CA) of the chemical plant, which means the current holder, Constantin Roibu, remains caretaker chairman until next week, when shareholders are due to meet again, Mediafax reports. “The appointment is up to the Council, not the Economy Ministry. It is the ministry’s confusion,” sources close to the Oltchim executive leadership said. On July 15, Economy Minister Ion Ariton issued an order under which the Oltchim CA chairman, Constantin Roibu namely, cannot concurrently hold the position of general manager of the company. The Economy Ministry’s choice for chairman of the Oltchim CA is Constantin Dascalu, an adviser to Minister Ariton. AGA Olt on Tuesday passed an Oltchim statute amendment in line with Ariton’s order, however it is yet to pick Roibu’s successor.
