Min Udrea: Ministry for European funds to be set up this autumn

The Ministry that will manage European funds will be set up this autumn and a person who has a good image in Brussels will be put in charge, Regional Development and Tourism Minister Elena Udrea stated yesterday during a press conference, Mediafax informs. She said that several names are being considered for the new government position. “It will be a person that will help us, it won’t be a sinecure. It will be someone who knows what doors to knock at,” the Minister added.

At the same time, she said that a solution has to be found for ownership titles because if one were to tally the surfaces they were issued for the result would surpass the country’s territory. The Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism will take over the National Agency for Cadastre, Land Registration and Real-Estate Advertisement from the Ministry of Administration and Internal Affairs.

During the same conference, Minister Elena Udrea also stated that she wants to build a sports centre for students in Bucharest and two swimming pools – an Olympic pool and a water polo pool – at the Dinamo and Steaua clubs, adding that she will meet the students’ representatives in order to talk about this project and will find an available plot of land. “We plan to build a 2,000-seat sports hall within the Dinamo sports centre. We are working on a water polo and an Olympic pool, one at Dinamo and the other at Steaua,” Udrea added.
