Udrea: Romania won’t overcome crisis without investments

Romania will not be able to overcome the economic crisis in the absence of investments financed from the state budget and the European Union, Regional Development and Tourism Minister Elena Udrea stated after signing a European financing contract for the modernization of Bucharest’s Moghioros Park, Mediafax informs. Udrea also stated that more than one million Romanians are the illegal beneficiaries of pensions and social aid and if they were not to receive these moneys anymore then there would be sufficient funds for “decent pensions.” The government approved on Wednesday a decision through which the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (MDRT) will take over Constanta’s Casino in order to rehabilitate the building, Elena Udrea announced. The hotels or boarding houses kept closed will be taxed an extra 5 per cent and the owners of lodging units that are in operation for more than six months per year will pay only half the fee, Tourism Minister Elena Udrea announced on Wednesday.
