Local, legislative elections could take place on November 18, 2012

PDL wants local and Parliamentary elections to take place simultaneously, on November 18, 2012. According to the talks that took place on Sunday during a party meeting, this proposal and the possibility of adopting a purely uninominal voting system for Parliamentary elections will be discussed within the ruling coalition, Mediafax informs. PDL sources stated that the meeting that started at 4 PM at the Palace of Parliament included discussions about merging local and Parliamentary elections in 2012. The Democrat-Liberals also discussed about the day in which the elections should take place and agreed on November 18, 2012, the sources said. The Democrat-Liberals would like Parliamentary elections to take place in a single round on the basis of a purely uninominal voting system, however during the negotiations within the ruling coalition they are open to accepting two-round elections.
