Medias: “Zece Prajini” Fanfare to open International Central Europe Film Festival

“Zece Prajini” Fanfare opens today the first edition of the International Central Europe Film Festival organized by film director Radu Gabrea at Medias. Mediafax quoted the Medias City Hall press release Wednesday as saying that the International Central Europe Film Festival will kick off Monday with an incendiary performance by the “Zece Prajini” Fanfare, a standup comedy number performed by Claudiu Bleont followed by the projection of the German film “With Mahler at the psychiatrist”.

According to the source quoted, Claudiu Bleont will perform  in “Novecento or the Legend of the Pianist” directed by Andra Negulescu.

“The action, with Claudiu Bleont at its centrepiece, takes place in a minimalist setting. The actor skilfully plays all the characters in this one-man play, the fantastic story of the world’s greatest jazz musician, pianist Danny Boodmann TD Lemon (Novecento), who spends his entire life aboard the cruise ship “Virginian”, the release also states.

Day one of the festival will wrap up with the outdoor projection of German 2010 film “With Mahler at the psychiatrist” , which tells the story of “Alma Mahler’s love affair with young architect Walter Gropius, which will lead to a family drama that will compel Alma’s husband, Gustav Mahler to resort to Sigmund Freud’s help”.

The festival is running at Medias, Sept. 5-11, 2011.

According to organizers, the nearly 50 films will be shown in the five sections: Films in the competition; Participant Countries; Guest Country – Israel, Director Portraits and Chairman’s Pick
