Prince Radu said on Realitatea TV, on Saturday, that the current performance of a state type at Cotroceni dating from 2005 was a mainly political one, ‘very often in an abrupt contempt of constitutionalism and ethics’. The prince said that in the context of the accusations made by President Basescu against King Mihai at the end of June, according to which the abdication of ‘an act of treason’ and the monarch was ‘the Russians’ servant’. Asked if he meant to say that President Basescu did not respect the Constitution, Prince Radu answered: ‘Under the Romanian Constitution, based on what its Chapter 3 states about the president, in the last six years we have not had a person like that. There is no one who does this kind of representation’.
