Astaldi – Max Boegl won the new tender organized for the construction of the Cernavodia – Medgidia highway section, the National Highways and Roads Company (CNADNR) informed, being quoted by HotNews. According to CNADNR, the value of the winning bid is RON 498.8 M, VAT not included, while the estimated value of the contract stood at RON 726.2 M, VAT not included. Likewise, the winner will design and construct the section in 15 months, not in 24 months as previously estimated by CNADNR. The project consists of 20.49 kilometers of highway. The design will last 3 months and the construction works 12 months, the latter set to have a 48-month warranty. The project will be financed from the European Investment Bank, the European Commission’s cohesion funds and the state budget. At the same time, the section may be opened to traffic in 2012. The construction works will have a 48-month warranty, not a 24-month warranty as the previous contract stipulated, CNADNR stated.
