Imperious victory for Vettel at Monza

An imperious drive saw Sebastian Vettel win the Italian Grand Prix at Monza from Jenson Button after a slow start which lost the world champion the lead, according to Eurosport. The Red Bull driver extended his lead at the top of the World Championship to 167 points with McLaren driver Button moving second ahead of Mark Webber, who crashed out in the sister RB7. Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, who excited the Tifosi at the famous old track by snatching the lead into turn one, completed the podium ahead of the McLaren of a disappointed Lewis Hamilton.
