League I: Title holder humiliated by CFR Cluj

Title holder Otelul Galati was humiliated on Saturday in its home game against CFR Cluj, score 0-4, a game counting for leg 6. This was Otelul’s third defeat since the start of the season. The goals were scored by Ronny (1st minute), Bastos (57th minute), Weldon (74th minute) and Hora (90th minute).

“We had a bad day, nothing worked. We started the game by conceding a goal in the first minute then we played one man down. If that hadn’t happened we could have beaten them. I hope our Champions League debut will fix what we did today,” Otelul head coach Dorinel Munteanu stated on Digi Sport. Otelul will make its Champions League debut on Wednesday in an away game against FC Basel.

In another leg 6 game, Gaz Metan Medias thrashed Steaua Bucharest, score 3-0. Steaua’s game was easy to predict and slow, Roni Levy’s players being far from expectations and investments. The goals were scored by Bawab (14th minute) and Bud (61st and 69th minute).
