An earthquake with the magnitude of nearly 4 degrees on the Richter scale occurred in the Vrancea region, Monday morning. According to Realitatea TV, the 3.9 degree tremor had the epicenter 128 km underground. Seismologist Gheorghe Marmureanu reassures that the magnitude of 3.9 is “absolutely insignificant for the population.” “The quake passed almost unnoticed, because it was very deep, in the mountains, at a depth of more than 100 km,” Marmureanu explained. The tremor was not felt in Bucharest.
