According to an activity report presented by Tourism Minister Elena Udrea after 1,000 days in office, 1,270 tourist accommodation units, of which 323 hotels, have been classified since the start of 2009, and the state has invested more than RON 100 M in 17 skiing infrastructure projects, Mediafax informs. Of those 17 projects that consist of 54 skiing slopes, 10 were completed in 2010 and 2011, the rest currently being in various stages of implementation. In other developments, Udrea also stated that the State Protocol Patrimony Administration’s (RAPPS) patrimony could be put up for sale through a public tender because many tourist accommodation units are abandoned. She gave Bradul Hotel in Covasna and Triumf Hotel in Bucharest as examples.
