PSD to file simple motion on heating subsidy

PSD President Victor Ponta announced yesterday at the end of the party’s Permanent National Bureau meeting that the simple motion on the elimination of the heating subsidy will be filed within the Lower Chamber next week.

“We want to show that the social costs and financial effects of a purely political measure taken by Minister Lazaroiu (Labor Minister Sebastian Lazaroiu – editor’s note) in order to prove that the mayors that receive money from the Boc Government won’t hike the heating bills, and thus to hurt the Opposition’s mayors that won’t receive money,” Ponta said.

The government has eliminated the state subsidy for heating starting with the winter of 2011-2012, and the City Halls will decide if and how they will offer subsidies from local budgets.
