Starting next year, the Renault group will adopt new colours for its Dacia automobiles, Mediafax reports. The carmaker will go for “brighter shades,” the marketing manager of the company, Stephen Norman announced yesterday at the Frankfurt Auto Show. “We might see the first units with the new look shortly before the Paris Auto Show (September 29 – October 14, 2012). (…) We are considering bright colours,” the Renault official mentioned. Speaking about the drop of Dacia sales in Europe, Norman explained the phenomenon through an increase of competition in this price range. “Many auto makers launched on the European market cars that are sold at very important discounts, in the context of economic crisis, so Dacia had to face strong rivals. We are doing all we can to grow on the European market, but lowering prices is not an option. If we drop the price of Dacia cars, we implicitly diminish the value of the brand,” Norman said. The company official is sure that Dacia will also produce electric vehicles at some time, but not in the near future.
