Senate foreign affairs panel chief, Arab envoys talk Palestinian UN bid

The head of the Senate’s foreign affairs committee, Titus Corlatean, had a meeting with ambassadors of Arab countries to Romania yesterday, according to a press release carried by Mediafax. The meeting was attended by ambassadors of Palestinian territories, Qatar, Algeria, Morocco, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Kuwait, Sudan and Tunisia. Talks focused on Palestinians’ United Nations bid for statehood and on bureaucratic obstacles to Arab investments in Romania.

Corlatean told Arab envoys that he would pass their opinion on the Palestinian bid on to Romanian decision-makers who will express the country’s stance at the UN, the document said.
