Four employers’ confederations of Romania – Conpirom, the Romanian Employers’ Association (Patronatul Roman), the National Union of Romanian Employers (UNPR) and UGIR-1903 – established a new structure, named Patrorom, which will represent Romanian entrepreneurs in their relations with authorities and foreign financial institutions, Mediafax reports. Businessman Ioan Niculae will be the president of the Union of Independent Employers’ Confederations (Patrorom), while other prominent businessmen will have leading positions: Marian Petre Milut (president of UNPR), Vasile Turcu (president of CONPIROM), Gheorghe Naghiu (president of Patronatul Roman) and Marius Eugen Opran (representing UGIR-1903). According to data provided by the four confederations, the new structure represents 62 pc of the workforce active in Romania, and the cumulated turnover of member companies reaches 65 pc of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
