European Commission (EC) agrees with the reallocation of unspent structural funds in Romania to the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (MDRT), the Minister Elena Udrea already demanding EUR 1 bln, according to Money.ro, after a meeting with Antonio Tajani, European Commission vice-president, responsible for Industry and Entrepreneurship. She wants the funds to be granted for the thermal rehabilitation of residential buildings, county roads development and tourism projects. Separately, Romania will join a pilot project launched by the European Commission, also including several countries and companies from Europe and South America, aimed at promoting tourism and encouraging extra seasonal activities, Udrea said. Meanwhile, MDRT has completed a RON 33 M investment in a tourist miniport at Sfantu Gheorghe, Tulcea County.
