Transport Minister Anca Boagiu yesterday told “Gandul Interviews” that, in her view, a government reshuffle is called for, although the issue is yet to be discussed in the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL). She did not rule out the matter going to be on the agenda of Sunday’s Democrat-Liberal meeting which Romania’s President Traian Basescu is also expected to attend. Referring to the founding of the Popular Movement, the transport minister said the time has come “for political forces, the politically disengaged people willing to lead the country toward modernization” to join forces. As to the administrative reorganization project supported by the PDL and President Traian Basescu, yet not by the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR), Boagiu said it should be done in 2012. “The 2014-2020 budget is being negotiated and the regions should be reorganized”. Boagiu was upbeat about PDL and UDMR reaching common ground on the issue at stake.
