Volleyball EC: Serbia eliminates Romania

The Romanian women’s volleyball team has failed to qualify for the quarterfinals of the European Championship in Serbia and Italy, losing a playoff game against Serbia, score 0-3 (19-25, 15-25, 20-25). Romania lost the game after one hour and 12 minutes. Serbia was coached by Zoran Terzic, CSU Metal Galati’s former head coach. Romania’s head coach Darko Zakoc, a Serb national, made the following statement after the game: “You have mixed feelings when playing against your country and your friends. I’ve tried to prepare my team as best I could and there were moments in which we played well, but the pressure Serbia put on us was too big.”
